STEP #1: Download our Brush Libraries, Comic Halftones, and BMP Textures. Adobe Illustrator Brushes, Halftones, and Textures will come to you as Zipped Folders. Extract All before using in Adobe Illustrator.
STEP #2: Once you have downloaded and extracted the folders, Brushes, Halftones, and Textures are ready to be used in Adobe Illustrator. Save all files to an external hard drive or cloud-based storage.

RESIZE ARTWORK: If you are building in a smaller scale you will need to resize your artwork before applying textures. I recommend duplicating the layer or copying and pasting to a new artboard. Select All - Group. Use the Properties Panel to transform your original Artwork or Design to fit Printer Requirements.
FILE - PLACE: Once you have grouped and resized (if needed) your own finished original artwork, you are ready to bring in the BMP Textures. Under File - Place Textures into your working Artboard. Scale to Fit over your entire design. To use Textures with Opacity Masks you will need to Group and Scale your Finished Artwork before Applying.
OPACITY MASKS: Applying Opacity Masks is extremely user-friendly. Group your Finished Artwork. Scale and Center to fit your artboard. Place in BMP Texture. Scale to Fit over Artwork. Select All. Click "Make Mask" in the Transparency Panel. Click "Release" to change BMP Texture.
CLIPPING MASKS: Use a duplicated shape of your design to place the Texture (Inside). We will be using the Draw Inside feature in Adobe Illustrator to create an easy Clipping Mask. The first thing you will need is a duplicate shape of the area you are looking to place the Texture Inside. Click on the Shape and select "Draw Inside" on the Toolbar. File - Place Embedded your Bmp Texture. Adjust using Transparency Panel.
OPACITY MASKS: This method of masking is used a lot for T-Shirt Design (using your own original artwork). The idea is to have the garment color shine through your own design. The Texture will not print but rather cut through your design to give a vintage or worn appearance. First select your finished design and the BMP Texture. Go to the Transparency Panel and click "Make Mask." Toggle Invert and Clip to get to the desired look.
120 Grunge Distressing BMP Textures: File - Place a BMP Texture over your finished Design (Group.) Scale to Fit Texture over your own Design using the Properties Panel or Scale Tool.
75 Paper and 77 Paint Splatter BMP Textures: Select the BMP Texture and Group. Click "Make Mask" in the Transparency Panel. Toggle Invert and Clip to show the garment color.
145 Cracks and Distressing BMP Textures: Applying a BMP Texture with an Opacity Mask will punch through the Texture to show the garment color through your design.
